Well done to Gary Lambert!
I first started training at Benton Hall about four and half years ago. I had recently changed jobs and started working 12 hour night and day shifts, which meant a lot of irregular shift patterns and unhealthy eating. As a result my weight increased to 113kg. I joined Benton Hall and Luiz took me under his ‘wing’. He set me up with a challenging but achievable training plan and also monitored my diet and nutrition.
During my time at the club, I’ve come to know that the staff are invested in the person. Since Luiz left, my progress has been helped by Andy, Chelsea, James and lately Annabelle, supported by the Wellness Team who are always encouraging and supportive.
Since I was about 8 I have been involved in sport playing football and running cross country for Essex, leaving me with damage to my knees. Recently, Annabelle and James have been able to work with this injury developing programs as my weight has reduced, allowing me to increase my activity levels to the stage where I feel confident enough to run again if I want to…….not that I intend to but I can if I choose to.
The exposure to all of these different people in the industry has interested me to the point that I have completed my Level 2 Fitness Instructor course and have nearly completed my Level 3 Personal Trainer Diploma. I have been shadowing in the gym which has been part of this training and I hope to make this a career choice in the near future.
I have lost a total of 30kg which has lately been greatly helped by Annabelle who has given me a lot of nutrition advice and coaching, alongside setting up my training programs to push me on even further to achieve my fitness goals.
